VIEW / Close tour itinerary

Day 1
We'll welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The hotel is located within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants, banks, and stores. We will have an informational meeting and registration for optional tours at the hotel. Take your time for fitting the winter clothing (optional), shopping, and dinner on your own. At ~10:00pm departure for Aurora viewing. A cozy, heated cabin or wall tent with hot drinks and snacks makes your Aurora viewing even more enjoyable. Return to hotel around 2.30 am.

Day 2
Today at 10:00-11:30am, enjoy a city tour of Whitehorse, before embarking out to the lodge. Before heading out at ~1:30pm, enjoy a lunch in Whitehorse and check out of your hotel room.

The drive to the Boréale Lodge is ~ 45 minutes. The drive is a tour in itself, as you travel along the South Klondike Highway. You will enjoy some breathtaking landscapes of mountains, and forests before arriving. Your room will be ready and your host will give you a tour of lodge, showing you the common spaces both inside and outside. Perhaps you want to start relaxing and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, or the hot tub before 7:00pm dinner.

After dinner, make sure you stay awake for your aurora viewing experience. On site, they have created an aurora viewing platform that gives a great vantage point for scanning the northern sky. It is best to watch often as the sky changes quickly! The Aurora may last from 20 seconds to hours at a time. Every night has a new opportunity for sky viewing and each viewing is unique!
You are also welcome to enjoy the night sky from your balcony, the aurora viewing platform, the outdoor hot tub, or by the warming glow of the nightly bonfire (with marshmallows!)

All aurora viewing is self guided at your own pace. Enjoy the quiet while you watch the wonders dance in the sky above you!

Day 3
Day at your leisure – optional day tours need to be pre-booked. Or simply enjoy a ‘day off’ from everything. A lazy morning ... a snow shoe walk around the property (~2km)....or a cup of tea at your balcony window enjoying the incredible view of the mountains. Reading a book inside or outside. In the evening, you may stay up late again to view the Aurora Borealis.

Day 4
Morning at your leisure. Transfer back to your hotel in downtown at 11:00am. There is enough time on this day to book an optional tour including Dogsledding, Wildlife Preserve, Hot Springs or Snowmobiling. Again, at 10:00pm we will depart for the final night of Aurora viewing at the Northern Tales Trading Post, returning to hotel around 2.30 am.

Day 5
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
